Privacy Policy

1. Your keystrokes never reach us
This point deserves to come first, because a tool that reads every key you press should be explicit about it. The keys you press while using the tester — including the key codes, the timing between presses, and everything shown in the press history — are processed entirely inside your own browser by JavaScript running on your device. They are not transmitted to us, not written to any server, and never received by us in any form.
This is not a promise you have to take on trust. The site is a set of static files with no backend to send data to: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the network tab, and type on any page of this site — no request is made while you press keys. The press history and counters live in the page's memory only, and vanish when you reload or close the tab.
2. Information we collect
The tester requires no account, no sign-up and no personal information, and there is no contact form. We do not ask for your name, email address or any other identifying detail in order to use any page on this site. Where you choose to email us through the contact page, that email reaches a standard mailbox in the normal way and is not connected to this website.
3. Cookies and third-party advertising
This site may display third-party advertising, including Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info. Users in the EEA and UK may also be shown a consent prompt where required by law. These advertising cookies are set by the ad vendor and are entirely separate from the tester itself — no key press or test result is available to them.
4. Analytics
We may use privacy-friendly, cookie-free aggregate analytics (for example Cloudflare Web Analytics) to count page views and understand which pages are useful. No personally identifying information is collected, and nothing you type into the tester — no key codes, timings, counts or test results — is ever included in analytics data.
5. Local storage and cookies set by the tool
The tester itself sets no cookies and writes nothing to local storage. Page settings such as the active mode or the chatter threshold are held in memory for the life of the page; some pages preset those values in their own markup, which is why a landing page can open directly in rollover or chatter mode without remembering anything about you.
6. Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site may be affiliate links, meaning we could earn a commission if you purchase a product through them. This never changes the price you pay, and it does not influence the diagnostic results, the thresholds used, or any recommendation about what your test result means. Where a page contains affiliate links we aim to make that clear on the page itself.
7. Your choices
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and every part of the tester will continue to work, because none of its functionality depends on them. You are equally welcome to use the site with an ad blocker. This service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Diagnostic results are not a guarantee
Test results describe what your browser received from your keyboard at that moment. They are useful evidence, but they are not a warranty determination, a repair diagnosis or a promise about your hardware's condition — the limits of what any browser-based test can prove are set out on the about page.
9. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. Material changes will be reflected on this page rather than announced separately.
10. Contact
Questions about privacy can go to the contact page or rlaejrtn16@gmail.com.
